HIKING
Rocky Mountain National Park Hiking
There are few things that can compare to hiking in the Rocky Mountain National Park. Yogi's favorite is the easy stroll on the Bear Lake Nature Trail, which makes for an easy, fun hiking and learning experience. Your parents can pick up a trail-guide booklet that all of the family can use to identify the plants and animals you'll see on your hike, including snowshoe hares, chipmunks and even the greenback cutthroat trout (the Colorado State Fish) can be glimpsed in the lake itself. Ranger Smith™ likes the Beaver Ponds Hike, which is led by the park's rangers. They take hikers to the most densely populated beaver dams for the best chance to spot this industrious mammal.
